ASTM A194 grade 7 nuts are versatile, suitable for both high and low-temperature applications, and typically paired with A193 or A320 bolts. For low-temperature applications involving A320 bolts or upon special request, these nuts undergo Charpy testing to ensure optimal performance in low-temperature conditions. Upon passing the Charpy test, an “L” marking is added to the nuts as a sign of successful testing.
